Welcome to the Humane Society of Ottawa County website!  We are a small, No-Kill shelter located in Port Clinton, Ohio.  We shelter injured, abused and/or unwanted pets until they can find their "furever" homes.  We place between 400-500 pets in new homes each year!

HSOC

Thank you to everyone who has helped with the animals, either by walking dogs, scooping boxes, or adopting a new friend. We have adopted out many animals to great homes thanks to all of our volunteers. We would not be able to function without you!

Head To Tail Rescue
The Humane Society of Ottawa County has absorbed many dogs and cats from the Head To Tail animal rescue.  This rescue had to close due to financial reasons.  All of the animals have been tested and are healthy.  Please give these animals another chance at a happy life!

Mission Statement
The mission of the Humane Society of Ottawa County is to ensure that Ottawa County animals have adequate and humane care.  We promote spay/neuter programs.  We investigate complaints of animal cruelty and attempt to educate the public about the proper care of pets.  While animals are harbored at the shelter, they will be allowed to live a comfortable life and be adopted by responsible people.
