Low cost spaying/neutering available thru the Humane Society!

There are 2 options available:

1.      Become a member of Planned Pethood at the HSOC. This membership costs $10. With it you receive a list of veterinarians in the Toledo area who will do the low cost surgeries. The average cost is $28 for a male cat, $42 for a female cat, $40-45 for a male dog, and $56-72 for a female dog depending on their size

2.      Sign up for our monthly transport to Humane Ohio-spay/neuter clinic in Toledo. You must stop by the shelter to register before hand. You pay for the surgery and we will worry about the transportation to Toledo. We have appointments scheduled the 2nd Tuesday of the month with the next appointment being on June 9th. The animals get picked up on the 12th by Humane Ohio, taken to the clinic, get their surgery, stay over night to recover, and come back the next day. The cut off for registering is June 4th. Surgery must be paid in full at the time of registration to insure a spot on the trip.

The prices are as follows:

Dogs male or female $60, additional $10 if over 70 pounds, Cats $50 male or female, Stray/feral cats (must be in a live trap) $25

If on government assistance:

cats male/female $25, Dogs male/female $40, over 70 pounds $50

Additional services: (Call the shelter for pricing)-Flea treatment, heartworm testing, vaccinations, nail trim, de-worming

Mission Statement
The mission of the Humane Society of Ottawa County is to ensure that Ottawa County animals have adequate and humane care.  We promote spay/neuter programs.  We investigate complaints of animal cruelty and attempt to educate the public about the proper care of pets.  While animals are harbored at the shelter, they will be allowed to live a comfortable life and be adopted by responsible people.
